What is the Nordic Salon?
Nordisk Salong is a jury-judged art salon for artists who live and work in Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Åland.
Who arranges the Nordic Salon?
The Nordic Salon is a collaboration between Helsingborgs konstförening and Dunkers kulturhus in Helsingborg.
When will the Nordic Salon be shown?
The Nordisk Salong runs between 3 December 2021 and 3 April 2022.
Where will the Nordic Salon be displayed?
Nordisk Salong takes place at Dunkers kulturhus in exhibition hall 2, floor 3 (600 square meters).
Who can apply to Nordic Salon?
All artists born in 2003 or before and who are permanently resident and active in Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Åland.
In what art forms can you apply?
You can apply in the categories painting, drawing, sculpture, textile, film, photography, graphics, performance, installations and mixed techique.
Can the submitted work be photographed without frame and be framed later?
If picture is taken without glass due to reflex, make sure to describe the passepartout/frame or other as accurately as possible.
Does the work have to be framed?
You are free to choose how your submitted work would be displayed. The photograph of the work is ment to reflect that. Helsingborgs konstförening does not frame the artwork so submitted work must be as ready for display as possible.
When can i apply?
You can apply from 1 January 2021 until 31 July 2021.
How many works should I submit?
Each artist submits five works of art in their chosen category. Film, performance and installation, maximum five works.
How do I apply with videos?
Please post your videos on, for example, YouTube or Vimeo as “unlisted” and share a link in the comments field inside the application form. Fill in the rest of the form as the usual.
If I am accepted, will all 5 works be shown?
No. Of the accepted works, Nordisk Salong reserves the right to show one to five works of art.
Can I apply in several different categories?
Yes. You can apply for several categories independently with five works within each category. Film, performance and installation maximum five works. Make sure the payment for the first application has gone through before You apply within the next category.
Can I apply with works that have previously been judged by a jury?
No. The works must not be more than three years old and we prefer that they have not been shown in public before.
Can I change my application during the application period?
No. Once you have submitted the form, it is with those works that you apply.
When and how do I know that my application has been received?
As soon as you have filled in the form with all the information and paid the registration fee of 400 SEK the application will be automatically sent to us. Your application is approved as soon as the payment via PayPal has gone through.
We confirm receipt of your application according to the enclosed file. The application is complete as soon as you have paid the application fee. If you are experiencing problems paying through PayPal you may instead pay using the following bank codes:

When and how do I know that my works have been accepted?
Artists who have been accepted will be published on this website from 8th of September 2021. If you have been accepted, you will also be notified by e-mail with further instructions. We only contact the artists who have been accepted.
What do I do when I am informed that one or more of my works have been accepted?
You send the original works to us with a courier or transport company or hand them in, in person, at Dunkers kulturhus. You are responsible for the cost and any insurance involving the transportation. More detailed information is provided in the admission notice once you have been accepted.
Must submitted artwork be for sale?
Yes. All works must be for sale.
How are my works sold?
We will produce both printed and digital information where the works that are for sale will be accounted.
The information will also notify that Helsingborgs konstförening alone handles the sales. Helsingborgs konstförening takes a commission of 25 percent on the sales price.
Who determines the price of the works?
The artist does it him/herself. Remember that the price must include everything that the buyer sees, i.e. framing and the like, as well as 25 percent in commission. The price must be set in Swedish kronor.
Will there be a vernissage?
Yes, but if there are still Corona restrictions, we will follow current rules and we may open the exhibition without ceremony.
Is digital artwork accepted?
Yes, digital tools are equated with other techniques one can use within each category.
